A Colorful, Classy Wedding at Cold Saturday Farm / Garden Inspired Wedding at Historic Maryland Venue / Cold Saturday Farm, Maryland / East Coast + Destination Wedding Photographer / Lauran Gosney Photography

A few months back, I had the absolute joy of photographing Jackie and Ryan’s wedding at Cold Saturday Farm, a historic venue tucked just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. If you haven’t been, it’s one of those places that feels like a step back in time in the best way….old stone buildings, rolling fields, a peaceful pond, and blooms just starting to wake up for spring. It’s the kind of place that gives you a dozen backdrops without having to go anywhere, and as a photographer, that’s just a dream. We battled rain off and on all day, but let me tell you, the overcast drizzle ADDED value to their day. Think rainy day + European stone countryside vibes…it truly was perfection. Plus, I love a reason to bust out some classic clear umbrella portraits!

Jackie and Ryan’s day was the perfect mix of timeless and personal. Everything felt intentional but never overdone. Jackie leaned into color when it came to planning, and her florals were lush, bold, and full of personality…absolute showstoppers! Late April gave us that soft, golden light and new blooms peeking out in every direction. You could feel spring in the air and it was just what I needed as I creep back into the wedding industry from a little maternity (and military life) break!

One of my favorite parts about this day was how them it all felt. Their two pups made an appearance (always a win in my book), and instead of a traditional guest book, they had an old-school phone where guests could leave them voicemail messages throughout the night. Listening to those messages later must’ve been the best mix of heartfelt and hilarious.

Another detail that totally stole the show: each guest’s place setting had an envelope labeled “For richer or for poorer,” and inside was a lottery ticket. It was such a playful touch, and you could hear the buzz around the room as guests scratched off their cards to see if they had won anything. Thoughtful, unique, and just plain fun.

After dinner and toasts, we snuck away from the party for a few quiet moments. Jackie kicked off her heels, and we ran barefoot through the field overlooking the property. Pureeeee magic, resulting in the kind of candid, joy-soaked moments that I love capturing most.

Cold Saturday Farm was the perfect venue for them: elegant but relaxed, full of history but open to whatever you want to make it. Jackie and Ryan made it their own in all the best ways, and it was an honor to document every moment.

If this is what spring weddings look like, count me in every time.

J + R had a killer team that worked their bums off to make their day perfect!
