If you know me, then you know how I feel about “mini sessions”. The label honestly makes me cringe. To me, mini sessions mean quick, cheap, and lack creativity. Zero judgement if you love them, I just personally do not, and therefore I rarely do them. BUT I knew that I wanted to offer a faster paced portrait session for mommas and littles (with little attention spans) and I wanted to emphasize creativity/uniqueness.
Cue Motherhood Portraits! Simple, small time window, but still focused on the connections and individuality of each beautiful family that came to see me! While yes, I guess technically these were mini sessions, I went into them with intention and purpose…something that I feel like often gets overlook when photographers are busting out 12 discounted photoshoots in one day.
These portraits aligned perfectly with upcoming Mother’s Day, truly the perfect gift. Mommas love photos WITH their babies. They are few and far between and SO important.
I hosted these sessions on my screened in porch, and it was such a blast! I have a studio backdrop installed on my porch that comes in so handy. I grabbed a vintage chair from my garage collection, haha, and recruited my friend Jo to work her magic with the florals!
Jo at Golden Acres Flower Farm made my vision + more come to life with these arrangements!
These sessions were such a hit that I am thinking that they need to be an annual thing! I even snuck a few pictures of my girlie in there. Being a mother is such a gift.
Stay tuned friends, porch portraits (dare I say PORCHraits) are SO FUN!
Cheers to Mommas in all forms, truly doing the Lord’s work! xo
